Ipswich Bay Glass Unveils Industry-Leading Thermal Performance Curtainwall

January 5, 2026 ThermTek Product Samples

Ipswich Bay Glass, one of the largest commercial façade companies in the Northeast, is proud to announce the launch of ThermTek™ high-performance curtainwall systems. ThermTek was engineered in response to the significant challenges the façade industry is facing with the increasingly stringent building energy codes. Their patent-pending solutions deliver industry-leading thermal performance, with verified U-Values as low as 0.23 (double glazed) and 0.14 (triple glazed), positioning it among the top-tier systems available in the market.

ThermTek is versatile, thermally advanced, suitable for a wide range of façade applications including stick-built curtainwalls, preglazed openings, strip window systems, fully unitized curtainwalls and panelized stud wall assemblies, and allows for seamless transitions between systems while maintaining continuous air and water lines. It also allows for the integration of sunshades, operable windows, bris-soleil, entrances, louvers, and all manner of projected elements.

With ThermTek, higher thermal performance means more glass and more daylighting for today’s buildings.

“We realized that glazing systems in the marketplace couldn’t meet the ever-increasing thermal requirements of building codes, forcing architects to sacrifice design to meet thermal performance targets and utilize products with serious design limitations. ThermTek was specifically developed to meet these challenges and give architects the benefits of a true curtainwall and incorporate high spans, large glass, sunshades, and all matter of aesthetic components,” said Ipswich Bay Glass Managing Partner, Charles Moniz. “ThermTek gives creative freedom back to the design community!”

“At IBG, everything we do is rooted in an unwavering commitment to thorough testing and quality control. To develop ThermTek, we followed established ASTM, AAMA, and NFRC standards as well as conducted extensive material lifecycle and compatibility testing to ensure strong, reliable performance. We’re proud to say that ThermTek’s full-size mockups (20′ x 20′), NFRC-prescribed mockups, and multiple material components were all thoroughly evaluated and confirmed to perform at the highest level available in today’s market,” said Ipswich Bay Glass Managing Partner, Michael Sloane. “We’re excited see how ThermTek will help transform the future of building design.”
